Custom concepts-> Reality

Retex Studios began as a passion of tranforming ideas and concepts into reality. Ashtrays, napkin holders, sculptural vases: working on custom orders within local communities. The mission hasn't changed since: functional art, made accessible, one piece at a time.

San Francisco, California

Anti Kitsch

Starting anew in San Francisco reflected an awful truth about refurnishing - a flood of same-looking decor: mass-produced, interchangeable, sold under a dozen different names. Craft art - unique pieces to make you feel at home - felt harder to find than it should have been. That contrast set everything else in motion

Retex Studios

A dream, made.

Architecture and art software started blending with the modeling work, and eventually, a dream was realized.
Design, made with intention. Beauty within reach.

What We're Building Toward

We're not trying to be a big brand that turns its products into ads. We want to be an ideal company — one that shares art, luxury, and convenience with people, because everyone deserves to look at beautiful things.

Sustainable, Ethical Materials

Biodegradable and recycled raw goods where we can get them, and ethically sourced, optimized materials everywhere else.

Free, Waste-Conscious Shipping

We ship carefully and avoid excess packaging — and shipping is always free.

30-Day Returns

We want you to love what you bought, not just own it. Returns are easy within 30 days.

Real Humans, Real Help

Questions, repairs, replacements — we're responsive and happy to help, no ticket number required.

Active In Our Communities

You'll find us tabling at events in both San Francisco and Denver — come say hi.

One Studio, A Few Different Crafts

Alongside our printers, we bring in unique sourced materials — blown and cast glass, hardwood offcuts, raw and recycled metal — and pair them with 3D printing, CNC, welding, and hand-finishing depending on what a piece needs. Nothing here is one-process; most pieces pass through at least two or three of these steps before they're done.

3D Printing

Where every piece starts — translucent resins and plant-based filaments, printed in-studio.

CNC Machining

For clean lines and precision cuts in wood and metal that printing alone can't achieve.

Welding

Structural metal work for bases, frames, and anything that needs to hold real weight.

Hand-Finishing

Sanding, sealing, and finishing by hand — the step that turns a print into a finished piece.

Local Collaboration

Partnership with Maison Shelby Patisserie

We love work with local small businesses on design and manufacturing -this months feature is Maison Shelby Patisserie in Denver! What began as a pendant light installation evolved into designing food molds to use in their own production. It's the kind of project that highlights the beauty of local businesses, working as local people. Shoot us a message if interested in a partnership!
